How long do you spend looking at an image before you start sketching?

I just realized I often dive right in, even when I have a longer time for drawing. What kinds of things do you look at the most when you're examining the model/image and how long do you give yourself for just looking?

I'm pretty much the same tbh. Maybe I'll spend a little time trying to pinpoint the light source, but overall I don't really plan for anything
