Getting back into drawing

Hi! I just wanna say that your figure and style is great and the line of action is quite identifiable and interesting. That being said, with the shading, i find it hard to see where the light is coming from. And with the hand on the right (the one on the ground), it is hard to see how the hands are bending but that could be me being pitnicky. With the shading, what helps me with finding the light source is making an arrow where you want light shining, and looking at the facets the light hits, and where it doesn’t. For example, a face with light shining from above would have the bridge of the nose, cheekbones, the waterline of the eyelids on the bottom, top eyelid, chin, etc etc. With the hand, maybe try splitting each finger bending into three cylinders and maybe cross reference with your own hand to look at the bending of each joint. That aside, overall it is a very good study, and it is overall a very interesting piece. Good job, sam!
