Hi everyone, Really inspiring to read all your experiences here — especially seeing people start or return to drawing later in life. It’s a great reminder that progress isn’t about age, it’s about consistency. For anyone struggling with “wobbly” lines or proportions, what helped me a lot was doing very short, timed sketches (1–2 minutes) of simple everyday objects like cups, hands, or plants. It takes the pressure off perfection and gradually improves both observation and control. Also, drawing bigger (using your arm instead of just your wrist) made a noticeable difference in line confidence for me. Would love to see more of your sketches if you’re comfortable sharing — it’s always motivating to learn from each other!
