Speed & stamina practice

30-sec poses from entire nude image pool 5-min and 10-min from Draw by Model > Anastasia Final pose on the right from posemaniacs.com (Pose 0100068) I think I need to focus on specific body parts next (probably torso first) in order to improve anatomy understanding. Final goal is to be quick, consistent, and able to work from imagination.

Working on a grey ground is a fantastic choice; it really helps when you want to develop the figure more.
I think the major flaw in these drawings is that the connection points make the longer pose figures look a bit like Legos that haven't been fully connected. This could be a style choice. But if it is not, consider studying the muscles that connect the bones together so that the body feels like one full unit.

Try Classic Human Anatomy in your local library. Or look for surgical texts with images. These are a great resource that many artists or hobbyists forget to use.

I hope this was helpful

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely work at understanding the underlying muscles instead of just copying shapes from reference. Today, I'm looking into the shoulder girdle.

Best regards,
