    Hiii, im 3vo

I just discovered the FORCE method yesterday and im not sure im doing it right, in my mind im still trying to think using the method taught on this platform by identifying the head, line of action, torso and hips and joints, however after having done that method for quite some time i aim for more fluidity within the execution and approach of my drawing. My issue is specifically where finding the leading edge fits into the method taught on this platform, and if it doesn't fit, how to maintain proportions without drawing in the torso and hips.

I think i am getting the hang of it though, ive been doing gesture drawing most days(although there are some times where im inconsistent), mostly 2 min gestures and my biggest problems have been the limbs and just scratchy lines, i even resorted to using charcoal to not fixate on small  details.

ANY advice at all is appreciated

    Heres my most recent ones

i would suggest to draw bigger when you are practicing and use your arm rather than your wrist it will definitely help you with the strokes.. and would suggest to start with basic shapes with light pressure and then define them with confident dark strokes.. good work tho.. keep drawing

Your gestures already show that you’re thinking about flow, which is good. With FORCE, the leading edge isn’t a separate step so much as the first directional idea you commit to before adding structure. You can keep proportions by lightly marking where the torso and hips sit without drawing them fully. Are there specific poses where the limbs throw you off most?

Hi! I had no idea what the force method was before you enlightened me so thank you so much! With scratchy lines thats also something I had problems with and I think I have an idea you can try that links to FORCE. If you've looked at Proko's youtube video on force (you probably have already) then if you go to 6:37 and pause. Looking at the figure drawn if we exclude the oval for a head the entire body, limbs and all, are composed of 12 lines and they are all C shapes.

I see your photos are of poses that are 2 mins long but I definitely recommend taking longer to see how you can use your lines. Definitely warm up with some short poses and then jump to five and come back down! If I were you I would chose one pose, set a time for 5 minutes and really look at the shapes, start with the spine like a line of action and draw one C for the entire spine, go to the shoulder and draw another C thats also the bicep, a C for the forearm, etc. Thinking about FORCE while you go, how do the C shapes connect, push each other, stretch. If you can, try to do MAX 13 lines. This is one of the hardest figure drawing i've tried recently but it helped me
